Founded on January 27, 1918, Peking University People's Hospital (PKUPH) is the first general hospital financed and operated by Chinese nationals. Throughout the past century, the hospital has had a consistent commitment to providing high-quality patient care, excellent education, and innovative research.
At PKUPH, our experts offer sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic care in virtually every specialty and subspecialty of medicine and surgery. Currently, 959 physicians, 1,984 nurses and 2,233 supporting staff work at PKUPH, which has three campuses equipped with over 2,000 beds in the heart of Beijing. Collectively, these locations annually:
 
• admit more than 78,000 inpatients
• handle nearly 2,600,000 outpatient visits   
• record about 178,000 emergency room visits
• perform approximately 48,300 surgical procedures
