Peking University Third Hospital (PUTH) was founded in 1958 under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. It is a modernised and comprehensive upper first-class hospital with integration of medical services, medical education/teaching, research and prevention as well as health care. At present, the Hospital has a staff of 2,331 and 1284 clinic beds, 34 clinical departments, 10 medical technique departments, 28 doctoral programmes, 1 clinical postdoctoral programme, 47 doctoral supervisors, 1 Chinese Academy of Science member, 1 Winner of National Natural Science Foundation-Outstanding Youth Foundation and Chief Scientist of “973” Programme under the Ministry of Science, 2 Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education, 1 selected candidates of National New Century Talents Project.
