The hospital is located near 安师大 (ANU, Anhui Normal University), a convenient 20-minute walk (with a 38-week pregnant woman; about 10-15 minutes normally) from the center of campus. The cleanliness level is pretty high, and the prices have been on par or slightly lower than most 3rd tier cities (Wuhu is considered 2nd tier). The staff can speak some English, though I have found it easier to converse in Chinese (I am between beginner and intermediate). Extremely helpful, kind, and open to how we want to have the baby. The ques are generally short, and the medical reports are very easy to pick up, spit out by an automatic machine when they are ready, so no need to queue again or hassle anyone. The maternity ward is on the 8th floor. The equipment and training seem very modern.

Founders of havingababyinchina.com, Jeremy and Jacquelyn have four children. The first three were born in three different hospitals in China and the last was born at home in the US. Jeremy and Jacquelyn created havingababyinchina.com in 2009 after they found little information for foreigners having babies in China. They love connecting with other foreigners having babies. Learn more about them on the about page.
