Xi’an No.4 Hospital, founded in 1898, has been renowned for more than a century. Originally under the name “Guangren Hospital”, it was the first west medicine-dominated hospital in northwestern China. It was renamed “Xi’an No.4 Hospital” after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
With a 100-odd years of development, the Hospital has blossomed into a comprehensive top-level (3A) hospital that integrates medical care, teaching, scientific research, first aid, prevention, rehabilitation and health care. So far, it is equipped with 800 beds, with more than 1,800 staffers, of which, over 500 medical practitioners with medium and senior professional titles, 230 with master or doctoral degrees, and 6 professors enjoying the special allowances issued by the State Council. It is provided with more than 1,000 pieces of over RMB 10,000-worth yuan equipment for the application of 49 medical teams. It, on annual average, sees over 1 million outpatient visits, along with 45,000-odd inpatient cares and 35,000 operations. As such, it boasts good reputation and peculiarity in Shaanxi province, or even the northwestern China.
